Spatial

The industrial design approach to spatial structures and living spaces.

How will e-mobility change the way we travel? How will it re-structure rest stops and the offered services at motorway service stations?

The Shelter, named for its main function, adds to charging stations what has been missing: the same kind of protective infrastructure conventional gas stations offer. In its most basic configuration the wooden roof reflects warm light on to the forecourt, protects the people in its center corridor, which connects every charging-sport with a small building on the end – or one on each side, housing restrooms, kiosks, cafes or just space to stay warm in winter and dry in the fall. Depending on the use-case, location and business-case, the modular structure can vary in size and configuration to accomodate services far beyond „standard“ service stations.
